Alice In the Greenhouse
Debbie Teashon
Some days I love looking out into my greenhouse from my kitchen window. Other days I wish I had a clear view out into my backyard when standing at the kitchen sink; however, today I had a hummingbird visitor. A cute little female Anna hummingbird came in to visit the flowers. She became confused about which way was out, but while she was there, I snapped a few photos when she stopped to perch on the pot holder just outside my window. I dubbed her Alice.
I learned a long time ago not to try to help them find their way back outside. My presence in the confines of the greenhouse made one panic and I imagine placed a lot of stress on its small little body. Left alone they eventually find their way out again.
