PORTLAND — Portland, Oregon gardeners you are lucky—the Yard, Garden and Patio Show is one of their best I’ve seen so far. Each year it seems the show outdoes itself. With the theme “Think Global, Garden Local”, the display grounds became the “7 Gardens of the World”—each one a spectacular rendition of the area they chose to emulate. Japan, France, and even ancient Pompeii are but a few garden displays you will enjoy.
A quick tour of the market makes me excited for the opening of the show! Gardeners, you will also have a wonderful time with plants, and garden accessories to choose from. Landscapers, garden designers, and other experts will be on hand to talk to about your garden plans this year. All kinds of hardscape materials will be on display for you to see and touch.
The Hardy Plant Society put up a winter interest display garden, so we can make our winter landscapes more exciting and fill it with fragrance! Crack Pot Artists are also a featured part of the show. See the creativity behind these artists who find and reuse material for their art. I am looking forward to seeing more tomorrow!
And we can’t forget the seminars, cooking classes and speakers that razzle-dazzle us with exciting plants, new trends and helpful information we can take home, savor, and help plan out the coming growing season.
Enjoy the tour I put together; however, it is impossible to photograph everything about this show without publishing a book. Even better get down to the Convention Center and view the show in person. You won’t be disappointed!
