Driftwood Containers Come to Rest In a Seaside Garden
Owners of homes near the seashore have an advantage of taking what nature deposits near their doors and turning them into treasures in the garden—mostly driftwood treasure. During the Music in the Garden Tour, on the Long Beach Peninsula in Washington State, I found one home took advantage of deposited driftwood on the shore. Harvey and Dee Bristol placed huge pieces of driftwood into the garden and planted them with sedums and other succulent plants. What fun I had encountering plants growing in nature’s natural containers. From just a few sedums on large driftwood, or a planter hollowed out of another one, I loved every one!
