Energized Purple Pot
I love a container that sat in the shade on my eastern facing porch. Inside its walls, I planted the perennials the bronzed leaf Rodgersia Bronze Peacock' and a subtly variegated Thalictron 'Evening Star'. Cascading plants featured a golden Japanese forest grass — Hakonechloa 'All Gold' and a lovely Begonia ‘Sherbet Bon Bon'.
I was pleasantly surprised that the meadow rue bloomed with lavender flowers all summer long and that it thrived in the morning sun/afternoon shade position. The beauty of a pot full of perennials is that when I want to redo the pot, I can plant them permanently into the garden. Even the Begonia will winter over in the greenhouse.
