How to Navigate Your Way Around the GalleryThe Gallery is divided into different categories. The main index contains the categories Annuals and Biennials, Bulbs, Ferns, Grasses (ornamental grasses, sedges and rushes), Herbs, Native Plants, Perennials, Shrubs and Trees, and Vines. There are also cross-reference lists such as Cut Flowers. Each link in the main index on this page, takes you to an index of the plants in that category. To return to this page there is a link at the bottom of each category index, or you can click on the Plant Gallery link in the left column of every page. Each plant in the gallery has a link at the bottom of the page that takes you back to the category index that it is in. Many of the plants are cross-indexed and you can tell in the index next to or underneath its name is the plant category in green. For instance, a native shrub resides in the Native Plants index, but is cross-indexed in the Shrubs and Trees index. The listing looks like this:
Acer circinatum Vine maple
After you visit the page, to get back to the index, you can either use your back button on your browser or use the link at the bottom that takes you back to previous page; no matter where you land on Rainy Side Gardeners, this link on every page takes you back to where you came from. The links back look like this: Back to the Native Plants Index If you came in from the Shrubs and Trees index you would click on: [Back to previous page] The Perennials Index is further divided. At the top of the index, you can select the alphabet to find a plant. At the bottom of each page are the same navigation tools to get around the perennials category.
