GROWING GUIDE

Geographic Origin: Pyrenees.
Plant Group: Perennials.
Hardiness: Sunset zones: Not listed. USDA zones: 6-8.
Mature size: Height: 8-18 inches (20-45 cm). Width: 8 inches (20 cm).
Flowering period: Late spring through fall.
Flowering attributes: Long stemmed with umbels of saucer-shaped, violet flowers. Looks very similar to hardy geranium flowers.
Leaf attributes: Pinnate, toothed, hairy evergreen leaves.
Growth habit: Clump forming.
Light: Full sun.
Soil: Gritty, well-drained soil.
Feeding: Side dress with compost or manure. Fertilize in spring with a complete organic fertilizer.
Propagation Methods: Sow seed as soon as ripe, or in spring 68°F (20°C). | Divide in spring. | Stem cuttings in late spring or early summer.
Pruning Methods: Dead-head flowers to keep from seeding around too much.

Rainy Side Notes

Easy perennial to start from seed. It will reseed itself quite readily but not to the point of being a serious pest. The seeds are very interesting looking, somewhat like a corncob pipe.
