Rainy Side Notes

To my delight, this fuchsia is a prolific bloomer; it covers itself with hundreds of flowers from June until first frost. Reflexed, red sepals and blue-purple corollas with red veining and red anthers are a remarkable combination. The corollas take on violet hues as the flower ages. In front of the small fuchsia shrub, I planted Primula viallii, whose flowers echo the colors of 'Pat's Dream', a satisfying combination in the shade beneath a large plum tree.
