GROWING GUIDE

Geographic Origin: Garden.
Plant Group: Perennial.
Hardiness: Sunset zones: All. USDA zones: 4-9.
Mature size: Height: 10 inches (25 cm). Width: 16 inches (40 cm).
Flowering period: Late spring to early summer.
Flowering attributes: Insignificant, tubular-shaped flowers on 24 inch purple stems.
Leaf attributes: Black leaves and hot pink spots in spring that later in summer the leaves lighten and the pink and cream dots adorn the foliage.
Growth habit: Mounding.
Light: Sun to part sun.
Soil: Light, fertile, moist, well-drained soil.
Feeding: Side dress with compost or manure in fall. Fertilize in spring with a complete organic fertilizer.
Propagation Methods: Divide in autumn.

Black leaves and hot pink spots in spring that later in summer the leaves lighten and the pink and cream dots adorn the foliage. This mounding plant is a 2007 Terra Nova introduction found by Terri Poindexter.
