Geographic Origin: Garden.
Plant Group: Shrubs.
Hardiness: Sunset zones: 4-6, 15-17. USDA: zones 6-8.
Mature size: Height: 8-12 inches (20-30 cm).

Flowering period: July-August
Flowering attributes: Amethyst urn-shaped flowers on long racemes.
Leaf attributes: Whorled, linear golden leaves.
Growth habit: Compact rounded


Light: Full sun
Soil: Sandy, humus rich soil.
Feeding: Little to no fertilizing in the maritime Northwest.
Propagation Methods: Semi-ripe cuttings mid-summer
Pruning Methods: Prune after blooms start to fade.

Rainy Side Notes

I wouldn't plant a lot of these together the color would probably be too much. I do like it next to the lavender on top of the rock wall. The yellow foliage turns red and gold in winter adding needed color to the winter garden.
