Heck no! I wouldn't plant those seeds if they paid me. LOL! Sounds like you have to contact your lawyer just to open the packet. Maybe you should sue them for sending you junk mail. LOL.

I am guessing that Debbie II has a lot more at stake than the rest of us. Reputation in the world of gardening for one thing. If they didnt send one to you or me, why did they choose Debbie? It probably isn't random. When you dont know the gift giver, you have to wonder why you were chosen to be a receiver.

I am sure Deb was chosen because of this web site and the reviews she regularly gives of gardening products. But I bet whoever sent them didn't really pay much attention, if any, to who they were sending the seeds to, since her response is exactly what I would expect from her.
And rightly so, if you ask me. I personally consider Monsanto one of the worst examples of big business. I can't for the life of me understand how any ethical scientist would even consider working for them, let alone spout the nonsense and pseudo-science the company regularly uses to justify it's actions. And I agree whole heartedly with Debbie that after seeing that kind of legalese on a seed packet, and knowing that the sue happy Monsanto legal staff is behind it, the only sane response is to get rid of the seeds unopened. The only thing I might have done different was to repackage the seeds in the envelope they came in, and mark them "return to sender". But then, the mail man probably wouldn't have wanted to deal with them either. |
