I realize the neon colors are in now, but I'm wanting more calming colors. My life seems hectic enough. And I'm REALLY tired of chartreuse. So this year I'm going more for pastels. In my main front door one I have a Coral Nymph Salvia, a Yellow Outback daisy (Bracycome), a pale yellow Million Bell, Pink Fascination Diacsia, Lemon Mist Nemsia, Peachy Keen Verbena, and Blue Cascade Lobelia. So far I'm pleased, but I hope the verbena won't be too strong a peach, its not blooming yet. I'm calling it Flamingo pink, or maybe Brine Shrimp color! The pot is just a dark green plastic, I only really care about the plants.
The back porch will have a collection, one side will mostly be my wildflower window box where I watch what re seeded from last year and planted some new ones in this spring. It's my surprise box. I also have a new this year nasturtium,'Duckalious', it looks like a cross with the Canary vine but I can't find anything about it to confirm that. The other side will mostly be my all time favorite combo of purples, blues, white, and a touch of magenta, and mostly fragrant. Another place I have Nicotinia sylvestris, fountain mix lobelia, and purple passion sweet peas (if they sprout). |
