Bacopa and Coleus Basket
©2004
This hanging basket contains three unnamed coleus and three Bacopa. After planting them, it did not take long for the plants to fill the basket to overflowing.
Although I delight in the foliage of the coleus hiding the basket hanger, my eyes tell me the design looks top heavy. If I do a similar basket again, I will sheer the coleus and reduce the height by half. Pruning forces the plant to grow bushier, therefore much more in balance in the hanging basket. The proportions seen here are more desirable in a taller container sitting on the ground.
