Snohomish, WA After my tulips were done last year and the leaves were pretty much died back, I dug them all up as we were going to be moving and I wanted to take them with. Set them out in shallow boxes and to let them dry, well, they all rotted and died??? Help, when can tulip bulbs be dug up and what process should you use??

Waiting for the foliage to die back, then digging up the bulbs, and allowing them to go dormant in a dry place is what needs to happen for tulips. If they rotted, they were too damp. As you mentioned, they should be placed in shallow boxes with peat moss and allowed to dry in a warm, dry place.
