Spots on My Red Flowering Current

Hello,
I planted a red-flowering current in my garden several months ago. The new growth on the shrub looks terrific (though aphids seem to love it), but I noticed that many of the remaining leaves are getting brown spots. This is my first experience with this plant, and I was wondering whether the brown spots are normal. If not, any ideas as to what might be causing them and how to correct the problem?
Thanks.

Is this what it looks like?

If it is, you have anthracnose. Nasty fungus, but here are some ways to control it. Hopefully you will choose the organic methods mentioned.
If not this then back to the drawing board for me.

That's it exactly! Thanks so much Debbie. I guess the especially wet spring we've had helped the fungus get going. I'll give one of the organic treatments a try.
Thanks again.

Thanks for pointing to another possible cause of the spots, basilgirl. Going by the pictures and descriptions, it seems more like anthracnose than whitepine blister rust.
