Tulips Dug Up in July?

I am learning to live more and more with the sling-ed arm after shoulder surgery. I have turned to my two teenagers to help me with as many gardening tasks as possible. (THAT'S a story that deserves its own thread...but, be that as it may)....Yesterday my darling daughter was putting in some annuals for me and when she was done, cried "hey, what are these things?" Tulip bulbs. Lovely plump bulbs from the most incredible red tulips EVER that came up this spring.
So, now that she has unearthed them, here is my question....do I...
- put the unearthed ones in the fridge till Fall?
- dig them all out and put them away for replanting in Fall (and, put them away, where?)
- replant them quickly and pretend nothing ever happened!
Do tulips re-bloom each spring, or do they need to be replaced fresh each year?
Thanks everyone...........eight more days till the sling comes off and physical therapy begins....woo-hoo!

I'd replant them quickly and pretend nothing ever happened. My theory being that what ever roots didn't get damamged are still plump and moist and should recover. If you let them dry out, they are starting from further behind.
Usually they rebloom but hybrids tend to fade out after a couple years. They last longer with full sun and dry summers to mimic their original habitat. Species tulips will last much longer and can even "naturlize" or increase in number.

I am forever digging up bulbs when I weed, move plants, or put in new plants. I just replant the bulb right away. As far as I know, nothing has ever failed to come up and bloom the following year.
My tulips look great for about 3 years, then begin to diminish in size and vigor. I don't mind--it gives me an excuse to buy new bulbs, and try new color combination!

Wow, Barb, that's great that you get 3 years out of your hybrid tulips. My species tulips and fosteriana faithfully come up every year but they get almost no summer water. I bet using irrigation drippers on perenials near the tulips instead of sprinklers would extend the life of hybrids also.
And IT is a good excuse to buy new varieties!
