GROWING GUIDE

Origin:
Garden.
Plant Group:
Sub shrub.
Hardiness:
Sunset zones: 4-6, 15-17, 22-24.
USDA zones: 8-10.
Flowering period:
Summer until first frost.
Flowering attributes:
Double flowers with white sepals and lavender to purple corollas.
Light:
Partial shade
Soil:
Humus rich, well-drained soil.
Feeding:
Since it is usually grown in a hanging basket I like to fertilize weekly with a soluble fertilizer mixed 1/2 strength. While actively growing in the greenhouse I give a very weak solution of water-soluble fertilizer every time it is watered until it is acclimated outside.
Propagation methods:
Semi-ripe cuttings in late summer, winter over in a cool greenhouse.
Pruning methods:
Pinch out new growth in spring to encourage bushiness.
Rainy Side Notes
This is wintered over in the greenhouse in its hanging basket. In February. I repot it with fresh soil. Once growth begins. I fertilize regularly. This is an easy fuchsia for hanging basket culture.
