Rainy Side Notes

If you love great foliage plants, this one's for you with its outstanding, exotic-looking leaves. This shade-loving charmer adds interesting foliage to the darker areas of the garden. The best leaf color is found on the newer leaves in bright shade.
The reddish flowers—followed by green, fleshy fruit—hang out amongst the leaves and sometimes hidden by the largish foliage. The plant is not self-fertile, so two plants are necessary for cross pollination so that fruiting will occur.
The large foliage grows splendidly amongst tall ferns adding a textural contrast that is a feast for the eyes.
