GROWING GUIDE

Origin:
Japan.
Plant Group:
Perennials.
Hardiness:
Sunset zones: 1-24.

Flowering period:
Late August to September.
Flowering attributes:
Corymbs of white flowers in hot climates and pale pink flowers in cooler climates.
Leaf attributes:
Succulent, gray-green leaves with creamy white margins.
Growth habit:
Clump-forming.
Light:
Full sun.
Soil:
Light, well-drained, but moist soil.
Feeding:
This sedum is not a heavy feeder, but I side dress it with complete organic fertilizer and compost or manure.
Propagation Methods:
Stem cuttings. | Divisions.
Pruning Methods:
None needed. If you leave the plant intact over winter, prune out dead stems in early spring. If you accidentally pull up a rosette while pruning, see propagation method above.

Plantsman Barry Yinger brought this showy sedum out of Japan and made this available for gardeners who love variegated plants. When I found S. 'Frosty Morn', I snatched it right up and have been in love with it ever since. In cool weather, the flowers open up a light pink, but during hot seasons, it opens up pure white. In or out of flower this sedum looks great, spring through fall, with its variegated leaves.

Sedum 'Frosty Morn' dies back down to the ground every year. In the spring, you will notice what looks like little cabbages around the base of the plant, as the rosettes get ready to spring into growth. This sedum is an excellent bee and butterfly plant.
